H. A. ABBOTT of Taberg Dies at 83
Taberg – Harry A. Abbott, 83, Coal Hill Rd, RD 2, died Friday in Rome Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Oriskany Falls April 11, 1884, son of Samuel and Frances Kelley Abbot, and attended Oriskany Falls School. On Nov. 16, 1904, he and Wilhelmina Myers were married in St. Mary's Church, Rome. She died March 16, 1960.
Mr. Abbott in his younger years owned and operated a farm. Later he was employed by Rome Manufacturing Division of Revere Copper and Brass, Incorporated and after that was highway foreman for the Town of Annsville. He retired in 1964.
He had been a resident of Taberg for 30 years and prior to that he lived in Swancott Mills. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Taberg.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Floyd L (Lillian) Willson, Taberg, and Mrs. Jacob E. (Wilhelmina) Wuethrich, New London; two sons, Stewart H., and Harold P. Abbott, both of Rome; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Martin J. Nunn Funeral Home, Rome and at 9:30 from St. Patrick's Church, Taberg, where a requiem High Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Louis D. Barry, pastor. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight 7 to 9 and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services for Harry A. Abbott, ole Hill Road, Taberg who died Friday, were held Monday at the Martin J. Nunn Funeral Home and at St. Patrick's Church, Taberg, with the Rev. Louis Barry, pastor officiating.
Bearers were Jack A. Abbott, Richard T. Abbott, Joseph P. Abbott, LeRoy F. Wilson, Harry D. Willson and Ronald J. Wuethrich. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
