Berniece Anderson, 80, Carpio, ND, died Sunday, February 5, 2006, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Berniece Louise Marie Kunde was born on April 11, 1925, the daughter of Henry and Clara (Vietzke) Kunde on a farm near Parshall, ND. She was raised and educated in the Parshall area where she attended Banner Country School through the eighth grade.
As a young adult, she worked in Minot, ND, as a housekeeper until her marriage to Carl Anderson on November 26, 1946, in Parshall, ND. They made their home on a farm located north of Carpio, ND, in Plain Township of Renville County. They farmed and raised livestock there until 1966, when they moved into Carpio. Together, they were employed by the Carpio School as custodians until the school closed in 1991. They have continued to live in Carpio since then.
She was a member of Carpio Lutheran Church and active in its ladies aid group. She enjoyed watching Carl tend to the family horses. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, cooking and feeding family and friends. She also loved reading and any activities and events involving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was her priority.
Her loving family includes: husband of almost 60 years, Carl, Carpio; children, Duane (Colleen) Anderson, Minot, Paulette Meland, Minot, Joyce (Gary) Tudahl, Berthold, Charlene (Robert) DeMaria, Bismarck, and Loretta (Merlin) Routledge, Minot; 13 grandchildren, Nadine (Steve) Butts, Nathan (Brandi) Anderson; Joshua, Scott, Shannon (Karen) Tudahl, Jessica (Eric) Lee; Kari (Shane) Block, Kevin (Shawnya) Meland, and Karmen (Rob) Carey; Erin and Rachel DeMaria; and Will and Kyle Routledge; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Moyer, Jamestown, Elaine (John) Brostuen, Aurora, CO, Florence Weil, Durango, CO; brother, Robert (Bonnie) Kunde, Aurora, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Interment: Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery, rural Carpio, ND.
Visitation: Wednesday from Noon to 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Prayer Service: Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio.
