When the Commercial went to press last night the condition of Mr. C. M. Barnett, of Tupelo, who formerly resided here, and who numbers his acquaintances, was considered extremely serious and as a last hope of saving his life an operation was being considered. Mr. Barnett had a severe attack of appendicitis, about four months ago, but he recovered sufficiently, to go to Battle Creek, Michigan, where he remained until a few weeks ago, without any improvement, when he came to Columbus, where he has had every attention possible by skilled physicians and careful nurses.
