Marion V. Breed, born March 1, 1928 in Gulfport, MS, passed away from natural causes on July 12, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Shelley S. Breed and Janie B. (Hunter) Breed. She was 86.

She is survived by her niece, Joy D. Breed and grand-nephews William and Fox of Oakland, CA and her nephews Robert C. Breed of Palmyra, VA and Lynn B. Breed and grand-nieces Felecia, Jenny and Sarah of Rockford, IL.

A longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida, Marion was a graduate of Landon High School and the University of Florida where she obtained a Masters degree in Physical Education. Marion was a beloved teacher, coach and administrator in the Duval County school system, most well known for her years teaching and coaching at Landon and Sandalwood. A championship level tennis and badminton player as a high-school student, she also coached teams to championships in tennis, softball, basketball, track and swimming. She inspired hundreds of her students with her sharp wit and dedication to excellence. Marion was an AVID Florida Gator fan! She attended and was very active at Southside Baptist church.

A service honoring Marion's life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Southside Baptist church in San Marco. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name to your favorite church or charity.
