Rites held for Arthur Bott

Arthur Bott, 70, rural Donnybrook, died Wednesday, October 26th in a Minot hospital. His funeral was held Saturday, October 29th at 11 a.m. in Carpio Lutheran Church, with Rev. Richard Spiedel, officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Ethel Vangsness, organist, and Mrs. June Dahlseng, vocalist. Casketbearers included Robert Bott, Lynn Haidle, Erwin Elker, Roland Elker, Craig Grabow and Lynn Grabow. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Minot.

He was born October 31, 1917 at rural Donnybrook, a son of Valentine and Emma Bott. He was reared on the family farm near Donnybrook and attended Ree Township Grade School and graduated from Hartland High School in 1935. He worked with the Civilian Conservation Corp. at Foxholm during the winter of 1936 and returned to the work on the family farm the following summer. He married Edna Grabow on October 27, 1943 at her family's farm, rural Donnybrook. They farmed for five years in the Hartland area until moving to their present farm south of Donnybrook in 1949.

He had been a member of Aurelia Moravian Church, until its closing and had served on the church board as a trustee and elder for 30 years. He had also been a member of the Aurelia Moravian Cemetery Board for many years.

Survivors include his wife; son, Russell, Donnybrook; daughter, Ardis Johnson, Minot; two brothers, the Rev. Earnie, Laurel, MT., Abner, Pocatello, ID, Roy, Donnybrook; sisters, Mabel Moseng, Velva, Florence Haidle, MT.

Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, handled arrangements.
