PAUL CHERNEY

Paul Cherney, 83, of Kellnersville, pioneer farmer and well known early day musician, died Sunday at the Holy Family hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Husar funeral home, Kellnersville, and at 9:30 at the St. Joseph Catholic church, the Rev. Frank Svatek officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Cherney was born in Bohemia in 1863 and at the age of 20 years came to this country.
In 1886 he married Miss Mary Chizek and they located on a farm in Franklin. He was active in music circles of that section of the county being a member of the Frelich orchestra and the Kellnersville band for years. The couple retired from the farm in 1926 and moved into Kellnersville. He was a member of the Holy Name society.

Survivors are his wife; seven daughters, Mrs. Frank Kellner of Maribel, Mrs. Adolph Fidler and Mrs. Edward Petska of this city; Mrs. Joseph Kapitz of Green Bay, Mrs. Joseph Weisner of Franklin, Mrs. Joseph Krejcarek of Francis Creek, Mrs. George Benzschwel of Reedsville; three sons, Wencel of Franklin, John of Kellnersville, Louis, of this city; four sisters, Mrs. Wencel Hurka of Milwaukee, Mrs. Emil Burich of this city. Mary and Tessie in Bohemia; 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Tuesday, where the rosary will be recited at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.
