Kills Self in Hotel - Joshua W. Kendall Bids Daughters Good-by in Farewell Note
A certificate of suicide has been issued in the case of Joshua W. Kendall, 51 years old, a locomotive engineer, formerly of Richmond, Va., whose lifeless body was found in a room about noon yesterday in a Pennsylvania Avenue hotel. Death was due to the effects of cyanide of potassium.
When Kendall left Richmond about five weeks ago he came to this city, and has since resided with his sister, Mrs. C.H. Parater, of 503 Fifth Street Southeast. His son and two daughters live at 621 K Street Northwest.
Kendall left two notes, one addressed to his daughters, Lillian and Lucille Kendall, bidding them good-by, and one to his sister, Mrs. Parater, requesting that she look after the girls and asking God's blessing and protection for the children.
