Son of Humphrey Anderson and wife, Lavinia Shannon Anderson...his mother was a d/o George Shannon of Ireland and Pa., and Warren Twp., Belmont Co., Ohio and his wife, Jane Milligan Shannon....sister of George Shannon (Lewis & Clark Expedition); John Shannon, War of 1812, grandfather of Judge Isaac Parker of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, a Federal Judge called "the Hanging Judge"; David Shannon, private secretary to Andrew Jackson and territorial governor in absentia for Jackson of Florida territory, d. there of Malaria.; James Anderson, md. Susan Shelby, d/o Isaac Shelby (one time Governor of Kentucky) and he died in Central America where he was to take post of Charge de Affaires of Central America, died of yellow fever shortly after arriving; brother Thomas Anderson, Congressman of Ohio from Belmont Co., who married Cassandra Anderson, sister of William Brashears Anderson, sister of Wilson Shannon, first native born Governor of Ohio, Arthur Shannon, d. young (but had cut off Wilson's fingers by accident before his death); Nancy md. George Gillaland. William B. Anderson went to the Gold rush (may have been one of the 25 who left with Wilson Shannon to the gold rush-did not return until many years later)-found by son George in California and returned with him (family history supported by newspaper article from Newark Advocate, Newark, Ohio). Wife and husband reunited after the return of William B. Anderson and he died and buried near his family and wife. Wife, Mary Ann English Anderson d/o Richard English and wife, Ann Coppic Anderson...
