Mrs. Matilda Pemberton, who had.
lived in Beechworth all her life, died
at the Ovens District Hospital, as the
result of a fall. A daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. William Counsell,
of Spring Creek, she was born there
79 years ago and married Mr. Alfred
Pemberton, who died 14 years ago.
She is survived by the following chil-
dren—Alfred (Supt. of Police, Mary
borough), Albert (Tocumwal), Ada
(Mrs. Sword, Stanley), Walter, Wil-
liam, Lilly (Mrs. H. Rose) and Rose
M. (Mrs. F. W. Surrey), Deceased's
.remains were interred in the Beech
-worth cemetery.
