MRS. HERMAN DOOER
Mrs. Herman A. Dooer of Avon died Friday, Oct. 1. She was 90
years of age April 13.
Mrs. Dooer fell at her home and fractured a hip. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, where her death occurred at 6:45 that evening.
Funeral services were held from the mortuary chapel of T. V. Stephenson & Son, Lacy St., Avon, at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, the Rev. Edward Stokesberry, pastor of Central Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in Avon Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Herman A. Dooer; two nieces, Mrs. George B. Day of New York City, and Mrs. A.E. Sager of Marine City, Mich; and one nephew, Harry D. Carman of Jonesville, Mich.
She was Frances, the daughter of Daniel and Frances Sackitt Lacy, and was born in Canawaugus, on April 13,1861. She was a year old when her father purchased a farm in East Main Street, Avon.
She attended old Avon Academy, later being renamed Avon Union School, and later attended a young woman's school, "Sunmerville," in St. Clair, Mich. For many years she was prominent in the social and church life of the village. Two years ago she was presented a 50 years certificate from Central Church.
