Jerry Kenneth "Chief" Schewe, 76, of Leesville, Louisiana entered eternal peace on Sunday, July 20th, 2014 in Leesville, Louisiana with his loving family by his side. Jerry was known as "Poppa" to his family and "Chief" to those he worked with and the men and women he rode Harley's with. Poppa will be remembered by his family as a strict, fair and selfless man, who enjoyed playing games and spending time with his family. At the age of 15 he rode his first Harley and has never stopped. He later became a talented airbrush artist. Chief served this nation for 23 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. After retiring he went to work as a civil service employee for another 20 years.

Mr. Schewe was preceded in death by his parents M.W. and Iva Mae Schewe and two grandchildren, Craig Anthony Sickels and Jake Kenneth Schewe. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Wanda Sue Peavy Schewe of Leesville, LA; three sons, John Kenneth Schewe and wife Kathy of Crosby, TX, Raymond Terrell Schewe of Pineville, LA, and Jerry Kenneth Schewe of Leesville, La; three daughters, Jody Sickels and husband Tim of Leesville, LA, Joan Counts of Leesville, LA, and Jennifer Lynn Schewe; one sister, Carroll Schewe Cline and husband Ralph of Potomac Falls, VA; step-mother, Delores Schewe of Metairie, LA; step-brother, Bruce Schewe of New Orleans, LA; three grandchildren, Carol Heaton and husband Trey of Leesville, LA, Daniel Perales and wife Anna of San Antonio , TX and Jena Schewe; eight great grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be in the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel beginning on Wednesday, July 23rd , 2014 at 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 24th, 2014 with Pastor Carol Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, Louisiana. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfh.com

Jerry Schewe was was born 03-01-1938 in Denver Colorado. He did two tours in Vietnam and retired a CW3. Chief as he was called was an avid biker and loved riding his Harley and loved the many friends that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wanda Sue, and three sons; John and wife Kathy, Raymond, and Jerry. Three daughters; Jody Sickels and husband Tim, Joan Counts, and Jennifer Lynn.
