Sergeant Robert A. Alexander, DSN 3455, was commissioned as a Police Officer on 03/09/1959. After the academy, he had the following assignments during his career. They were the Personnel Division, 3Rd, Mobile Reserve Section, and the 3Rd District. On 11/20/1967 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and remained in the 3Rd for a short period of time before he went on to other assignments which included the Mobile Reserve Section, 7Th, 5Th, Mobile Reserve Section,7th, Prisoner Processing Division, Field Inspection & Evaluation Unit, and finally the 3Rd. Sergeant Alexander retired on 07/21/1988 with 29.37 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Sergeant Alexander was also a veteran of the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant (E-8).

Beloved husband of the late Desda (nee George) Alexander; dearest father of Linda Coleman, Robert, and Valerie Buck; grandfather of Christopher, Lauren, Tom Coleman, Brian and Eric Buck; and great-grandfather of Nathan Coleman.

Sergeant Alexander was predeceased by a sister Betty Anderson, and a brother Joseph Alexander.
