Saide "Cy" Abdo, age 63, of Dimondale, Michigan, died on November 26, 2005. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, will be missed by many. Cy was born July 15, 1942, in Toledo, OH and devoted to not only his family, but also to his country. He was a man of integrity and honor who worked hard his entire life. Cy was a graduate of Northwood University, worked for the Lansing Police Department for eight years and retired from Lansing Community College Public Safety as director. He served in the United States Navy on a submarine for seven years and was also a Vietnam Veteran. Cy was a member of the Masonic Lodge and actively involved with the American Legion Post #238. He was recently elected to the Eaton County Board of Commissioners. He is survived by his wife, Carol of 34 years; son, Jameel; daughter, Alys (nee, Abdo) Long; two granddaughters, Brennan and Bailey Long; identical twin brother, Mahammaed "Butch" Abdo; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear friends. Cy will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, Lansing, MI. Interment was in Dimondale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice or the American Heart Association, in memory of Cy.
