Clarence B. Altmire, 54, of Eau Claire, died Thursday afternoon following a heart seizure suffered while he was conducting business at the home of Ralph Gibson, Route 4, Parker.
He was born in Butler on March 25, 1909, a son of Theodore and Julia Kelly Altmire.
He worked for a number of years for the Michigan Limestone Company at Boyers and he was a foreman when the company suspended operations.
He was united in marriage with Dorothy Whittaker on April 10, 1934.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Jean (Thomas) Stemmerich and Karen (James) Hilliard both of Eau Claire; five sisters, Julia (Floyd) Sutton of Rural Route, Karns City, Violet (Harry) Wile of Butler, Alberta (Regis) Bridge of Pittsburgh, Josephine (William) DeLong of Emlenton, Margaret (Ralph) Dittman of Bruin; four brothers, John and Harold both of Eau Claire, Theodore of Pittsburgh and Francis of Parker.
A brother, Lawrence died in 1955 and a sister, Mrs. Alice Meals died in 1960.
Friends will be received after 7:00 PM today in the Donovan Funeral Home, Clintonville. Services will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 AM Monday with the Reverend Frank T. Weaver, pastor of St. Alphonsus Church, officiating.
