Mrs. Amelia B. Manning Dies at Home Here
Mrs. D. J. Manning, born Amelia B. Hogan, at Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, December 19, 1866, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hogan, early pioneer Wisconsin settlers, died Wednesday evening, January 16 at her home in Hysham following an illness of several years. The 79-year-old woman was the widow of David J. Manning who passed away in 1930.
She is survived by five children -- two sons, David M. Manning of Hysham and James P. Manning of Big Horn, and three daughters, Mrs. Helen Henricks, Miss Leona Manning, and Miss Irene Manning of Hysham. Ten grandchildren as well as three brothers also survive. The brothers are Patrick J. Hogan and John C. Hogan of Aberdeen, Wash., and Thomas S. Hogan of Los Angeles.
Mrs. Manning came to Montana with her husband and family in 1905, going first to Billings where they resided for five years before coming to Hysham where she and her family have since made their home. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church of Hysham.
A requiem high mass will be said at St. Patrick's church in Billings at 11 o'clock Friday morning, with the Rev. Father Anthony J. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery at Billings beside that of her husband.

Requiem high mass was celebrated Friday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Billings for Mrs. Amelia B. Manning, 79, who died Wednesday at her home here.
The Rev. Anthony J. Walsh of Forsyth was celebrant. Pallbearers were Charles Carroll, Joe DeCock, George Feeley, Edward McCormick, Harold Zent and Matt Zent. Burial was in Calvary cemetery beside the body of her husband, David J. Manning, who died in Billings in 1930.
Surviving are two sons, three daughters, three brothers and 10 grandchildren.
