Death of Miss Alice Gubhins.
On Sunday about 4:45 p. M., Miss Alice
E. Gubbins, aged 17 years, died at the Spellicy
House of typhoid fever, after an illness
of eleven days: The deceased was born in
the town of Annsville, where her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Gubbins now reside.
About three years ago she came to this city
to attend school, and at the time of her
death was a student at the academy. She
was an exceptionally bright and promising
young lady. Being possessed of a most
amiable disposition she endeared herself to
her teachers and schoolmates, all of whom
are pained to learn of her death. Besides
her parents the deceased leaves five brothers,
James P. and Joseph Gubbins of Rome,
Thomas. Frank and Charles Gubbins of
Annsville, and three sisters, Mary J. Gubbins
of Ibis city, and Agnes and Clara Gubbins
of Annsville.
