Early Life: Viv was born to Raymond James Carter and Irene Forbes Carter on March 2, 1926. He graduated from Lehi High School, then joined the United States Navy in 1944.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Viv played the drums in Carters Orchestra, through which he eventually met the love of his life. On February 6, 1947, Viv and Alice were married and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with six children. Viv retired as a Lehi Mail Carrier after 28 years. His most valuable asset was his family. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel and instilled that importance in his family, through serving in many church callings. The example of unfailing love for his sweet companion was enduring. Vivian Ray Carter, 88, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully at his home, on July 17, 2014. Viv was welcomed to his heavenly home by his little sweetheart, Mary Alice Devey Carter.
Survived By: His sons: Raymond Jay (Jane) Lehi, UT; Dale Gene (Diane) Blackfoot, ID; daughters: Debra (Joe) Sanchez, Baltimore MD, Sandra (Mark) McDade, Lehi UT, Cindy (Rob) McDonald, Orem UT; 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His sweetheart, Alice; his parents; brother, James Arthur Carter; sisters: Irene Lucille Jensen, Catherine Ann Dean and Doris Carter; daughter, Tammy Carter; grandson, Joshua McDade; and son-in-law, Joseph R. Sanchez Jr.
