Dora was born on March 7, 1910 at Entiat, WA to Jerry and Cora Parsons. She grew up near Olds Station and attended Sunnyslope Elementary. She graduated from Cashmere High School in 1928. She married Leslie "Rae" Damish the following September. They resided in Spokane where he was employed by the Great Northern Railroad. They moved to Marysville where they purchased acreage on the Tulalip Indian Reservation. Rae worked for many years as a machinist in the Everett area. After raising their family, Dora attended the nurses training program at Everett General Hospital.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing on Puget Sound, camping trips and square dancing with the Happy Hooper Square Dance Club. She was a devout member of Unity Center for Positive Living in Everett. Dora lived on the family farm for 47 years. In 1998 she moved to Wenatchee, WA.
Dora was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was patient, supportive and kind. She will be remembered for her gentle touch and sweet smile.
Funeral services are under the direction of Purdy & Walters with Cassidy, 1702 Pacific Ave., Everett, WA. Her memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 26 in the chapel of Purdy & Walters with Cassidy. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Everett, WA.
