Michael E. Boren, 54, of Valparaiso, died peacefully Monday, February 11, 2008 at Porter Hospital in Valparaiso.

He was born July 28, 1953 in Valparaiso to Alfred and Yvonne (Wagoner) Boren. On July 3, 2004, Michael married Connie Pierce who survives. Also surviving is his son John (Sue) Boren of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, two granddaughters Christie and Meagan Boren, his mother Yvonne "Bonnie" of Valparaiso, two brothers Alfred (Jan) Boren of Westville, Owen Boren of Valparaiso, his sister Nancy Sommers of Valparaiso, aunt Norma Vogel of Kouts, and many loving nieces and nephews. His father preceded him in death.

Michael attended Liberty Township School Class of 1971. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from the military after 20 years of service where he was a Chief Warrant Officer. He loved woodworking, gardening, scuba diving, and was an excellent cook.

Services for Michael will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 21st at the Bartholomew Funeral Home in Valparaiso. Rev. Brenda Ludwig will officiate.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation.
