Unexpectedly, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N. B. on August 6, 2002, Mrs. Rosie Ella Elizabeth (Leavitt) Hanley of Back Bay, wife of the late Delbert Roscoe Hanley. Born in Back Bay on April 3, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Trecil (Hooper) Leavitt. A loving mother and grandmother, Rosie is survived by two sons, Timothy (Beverly) of Mascarene and Dana (Cynthia Bryant) of Back Bay; one daughter, Julia (Russell) Douthwright of Saint John, NB; nine grandchildren: Amanda and Ashley Hanley; April and Joel Douthwright; Lacey, Brian and Dana Hanley; Katelyn and Kelsey Bryant; two great granddaughters, Karissa Douthwright and Ataya Neilson; three brothers, three sisters, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister and two brothers. Rosie, an avid CB'er was known as "Rosie on the Hill". A housewife and mother, she devoted her time to her family. A recent member of Sea View Full Gospel Church, she also belonged to the Harbour Lights Seniors Club. Resting at Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay from where the service will be held on Friday at 2 PM followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the Church on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. In Rosie's memory, donations to the ALS Society or Charlotte County Cancer would be appreciated by the family.
