RUFUS PUTMAN WRIGHT
A native of Bedford county and former resident of Alum Bank, died on Monday, March 12, at a sanatorium in Battle Creek, Mich., where he had been spending some time in the interest of his health.

Mr. Wright was born near Ryot on Aug. 1, 1851, a son of Thomas and Jane (Gordon) Wright. He was twice married, the first union being with Laura Slick, who died some years ago. His second union was with Ina Royal, who survives, with two daughters, Mrs. Emma E. Knepper of Swissvale and Mrs. Laura Hugo of Edgewood. One son, Thomas, preceded him in death. He was the last member of a family of eight children. Mr. Wright was a member of the Methodist church and was in business for many years as a tinner in Bedford county, but in recent years had traveled considerably and spent his winters in Florida. The body has been brought to Alum Bank to the J. E. Blackburn funeral home, from where the funeral cortege will leave Friday morning at 10 o'clock for the Horne church, where services will be conducted at 10.30 o'clock by Rev. Martin Kauffman, pastor of the Evangelical church. Interment will be made at Pleasantville.
