Charles E. Amos, Sr., 83, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, in a St. Joseph health care center.
He was born January 2, 1930, in St. Joseph, son of Bertha and Herman Amos. He served in the Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. He worked at FFF Feed Store for 37 years. He also had a lawn ornament business on highway 59 south of St. Joseph and enjoyed the people who visited him. He also enjoyed fishing when he was young.
Charles was preceded in death by wife, Connie Evalena Amos; his parents; a son, Dennis Amos; a brother, Alfred Amos, Sr.; a sister, Betty McCoy.
Survivors include a son, Charles Amos, Jr. and wife, Julie of St. Joseph; three grandchildren, Jarrod, Joshua and Heather Amos; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Morgan Amos, and a sister, Connie Lukehart and husband, Ed of St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Rupp Funeral Home, with Rev. Albert Shirley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Ashland Cemetery.
