The family of Louise Magne is saddened to announce her peaceful passing on July 9, 2014 at the St. Claude Pavilion at the age of 98 years.

Mom was born on May 23, 1916 in St. Claude, MB. She was raised on a farm by her parents Mathurin Bellec and Marie Le Frapper, who immigrated to Canada from France in 1907. In 1936 she married Félix Magne and together they raised four children.

Louise enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards, and curling. Her grandchildren brought her much joy over the years.

She leaves 10 grandchildren: Bob Rey (Deb), Mike Rey (Kim), Dan Rey (Tami), Tim Rey (Connie), Cindy Rey (Dave), Rick Magne (Joanne), Nadine Meakin (Rob), Carol Friesen (Daryl), Brendon and Renée-Marie Sedo; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters, Cécile Bellec and Thérèse Rocan, and several nieces and nephews.

Louise was predeceased by her husband Félix, daughter Evelyn Rey, son-in-law Pierre Palud as well as her sisters, Valentine, Emily, Sr. Hélène, Germaine, Agnès and Marie.

Cremation has taken place and funeral mass will be celebrated in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Armand Le Gal officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Claude Pavilion and Mom's companion, Céline Gauthier, for the years of care and comfort they provided to her.
