Clarence Eugene Abram, Senior, age 78, of La Grande and formerly of Edgefield, South Carolina, died July 13, 2014 at a local care facility. Viewing will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Daniels~Knopp followed by a committal at the Island City Cemetery.

Clarence was born on September 12, 1935, the son of William and Ella (Lake) Abram in Edgefield, South Carolina. On June 23, 1956 he married Maggie Della Key in Edgefield. They moved to La Grande in 1966. He worked the dairy farm for Hank Hohstadt in 1967 for 2 years then getting on with the school district as a janitor for 20 years. He was a member of the Wayside Chapel Church of God in Christ. He was also Deacon to Wayside Chapel Church of Christ for over 30 years. He valued family time taking pictures. He enjoyed working on cars with his son and best friend, Gary Harvill of La Grande. Clarence encouraged his late wife, Maggie to teach their only daughter to cook and prepare her for her own family one day. He loved motorcycles and old cars and all things mechanical. He enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening. Maggie preceded him in death on May 6, 1996. On January 3, 1998 he married Johnie Williams in La Grande.

Survivors include his wife, Johnie Abram of La Grande; children and step-children, Clarence and Renee Jean Abram Jr. of La Grande, Jackie Lee Abram of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Ronnie Abram of Payson, Arizona, William and Dana Abram III of Arlington, Washington, Kathy and Scott Chrusoskie of La Grande, Bonita Howard of Portland, Lelia and Dominguez Webb of Vancouver, Washington and James Howard of La Grande; grandchildren, Nichole Renee Abram age 25, DeVante Xaiver Abram age 14, Zacrouix Abram age 11, Ayriq Earl Howard age 15, Josiah Styphven Howard age 13, DellaMay Ann Abram age 10, Alyvia Joy Chrusoskie age 12 months, Samantha Marie Mays age 22, Willie Ann Mays age 20, Darius Quinton Abram, Maggie Michelle Abram age 10, William Durrell Abram age 12, Sara Grace Abram age 8, Le'var Howard age 24, Romeo Howard age 7, Denea Webb age 20 and Deshar Webb age 26; great granddaughter, Sarah Jacqueline Abram age 4; brother, Cooter Abram of Texas; and other relatives and friends in South Carolina.
