Mr. Gordon Wiley (Bo) Raikes, 67, of 117 E. Prospect St., Covington, died this morning following an extended illness, July 31, 1984.
Born February 19, 1917 in Alleghany County. He was the son of Mrs. M. I. (Leona) Raikes of and the late Mr. M.I. Raikes. He was retired owner and manager of Ayers Laundry and Cleaners, was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Navy, was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Covington Moose Lodge 610, and member of Parrish Court United Methodist Church.
Surviving, besides his mother, his wife, Elva (Pete) Raikes: a daughter and son-in-law, a sister, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 pm in Parrish Court United Methodists Church with Reverend Calvin Johnson officiating, assisted by Reverend Emmett Eccard.
Interment will be in Alleghany Memorial Park.
