Vivian Gail Lawrence Flowers, 41, died today at Alachua General Hospital following a long illness.
A native of Hawthorne, she had lived in Speedville for about 20 years. She was a custodian at the University of Florida. She attended Church of God By Faith in Speedville.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Flowers Jr. of Speedville; a daughter, Latoya Wanton of Speedville; a son, Clifford Ivey Jr. of Speedville, her mother, Leila Mae Lawrence of Hawthorne; nine sisters, Bertha King of Putnam Hall, Belinda Garmen of Flemmington, Deon Hutchinson, Sabrina Lawrence, Bernice Lawrence, Pamela Lawrencer, Karen Artley, Carolyn Peterson and Tammie Lawrence, all of Hawthorne; three brothers, Windell Lawrence of Gainesville, James Lawrence III and Demetrice Lawrence, both of Hawthorne; and two grandsons.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Galilee Baptist Church in hawthorne with elder Phillip Thomas presiding and elder Nazarene Burney, eulogist. burial will be in Hawthorne Cemetery.
