Two Manitowoc People Killed in Crash at Osseo
Louis Ansorge and Wife Were Going to Alaska

MANITOWOC – Nine persons were killed in state traffic accidents over the past weekend, including a Manitowoc man, Louis A. Ansorge Jr., and his wife, Sandra.

They were enroute with their two-year-old daughter, Ligeia, and a pet Alaskan husky dog to a new teaching assignment in a small village at Clarks Point in Alaska Saturday. Friday the two had completed some graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.

Described as one of the worst accidents in the history of Osseo, Wis., one of the Ansorges was driving a 1967 model Chevrolet station wagon and collided in the intersection of Highways 10 and 27 near Osseo with an auto driven by Dr. O. P. Idsvoog, 47, of Osseo, a veterinarian, who was the third fataility [sic]. He was enroute to a farm to care for a sick animal.

Dr. James Martins, Trempeleau County coroner, said that Mrs. Ansorge died at 2:30 p.m. at the Osseo Area Hospital and her husband at 3:30 p.m. Their infant daughter escaped with minor bruises and is now at the rural Cato home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ansorge Sr.

Taught In Indian School
Ansorge, 25, and his wife, 24, had been teaching school for two years in an Indian village school at Pedro Bay in Alaska. He was born March 6, 1942, at Manitowoc, son of Louis E. and Lucille Hallisy Ansorge. He attended Manitowoc public schools and was graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960, and was graduated from the University of Wisconsin with the class of 1964.

His wife was born July 6, 1943 at Lampoc, Calif. daughter of Frank J. and Hazel Kessen Orthober. She was educated at public schools in Menomonee Falls, Wis., graduating in 1961 from the high school and from Oshkosh State University in 1965. The couple was wed Oct. 3, 1964.

Besides the child, Ansorge is survived by his parents, a brother, the Rev. Peter G. Ansorge, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and (Turn to Page 2-M, Col. 4) . . .
(Continued from Page 1) a sister, Mrs. John Zaborik, of Milwaukee. Mrs. Ansorge's survivors include the parents and a sister, Miss Lee Ann, of Menominee Falls.
