Ruth Edna Acord, 86, of Swiss, died Monday, July 14, 2014, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Carrie Huffman Blankenship and was born in Clendenin on Aug. 31, 1927. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Acord, in 2006.

Surviving are her son, William (Linda) Acord Jr. of Swiss; four daughters, Judy Collins of Oak Hill, Linda (Randall) Sparks, Sue (Charles) Willis and Sandra (Michael) Kincaid, all of Summersville; brother, Woodrow Blankenship of Summersville; two sisters, Dolly Treadway of Belva and Martha McAtee of Brownsville; four grandchildren, Charles Willis Jr., Jason Sparks, Justin Acord and Nathan Kincaid; and great-grandson, Zander Willis.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Waters Funeral Chapel, Summersville. Burial will follow in Zoar Cemetery, Keslers Cross Lanes.

Friends may call at the funeral chapel one hour prior to the service on Friday.
