CRANE The Rev. Hampton Austin Bowens Sr., 88, of Crane, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland. Funeral services are scheduled at 11a.m.Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Crane. Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaffer- Nichols Funeral Home of Crane. He was born in Gilmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He was a pastor. SURVIVORS Wife,Bucilla Bowens of Crane; sons, Hampton Bowens Jr. of Dallas, Jimmy R. Abron of Houston and George A. Bowens of Abilene; daughters,Eunice Faye Travis of Richmond, Va., Dianna Abron of Odessa, Dororthy Brown of Crane, Joyce M. Williams of Kermitand Carol E. Davis of Round Rock; sisters,Dillian King of Longview and Palie Lee Richardson of California; and numerous grandchildren.
