John A. Arnold Sr., 72, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at his home
in Centre Township, Newport.
He was born May 17, 1942 in Newport to William and Elizabeth Arnold.
He was retired from Carolina Freightways and had Arnolds Garage for 35 years.
He was a member of the Adams Lodge #319 in New Bloomfield.
John is survived by his wife, Leona (Kratzer) Arnold; son, John Arnold Jr. of Newport; daughters, Rebecca Newcomer of Camp Hill and Tanya Arnold; step son, Scott True of Newport; step daughters, Shiela Reisinger of Newport and Tammy True of Harrisburg; brothers, Harold, Larry and James Arnold; sisters, Margaret Morrison and Mary Stoner and 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Tracy Arnold.
Family and friends are invited to services on Thursday from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport for a viewing from 12:30 until the funeral service at 2 PM with Pastor David Tanner officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
