Florence L. Schleicher, a beloved mother, sister and grandmother, of Kansas City, KS, joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Providence Medical Center at the age of 93. Florence was born the daughter of Ernest L. and Jessie (Buck) Myers on May 22, 1921 in Kansas City, KS. Survivors include her son, Marvin Schleicher and his wife Pat; two daughters, Norma Schleicher, Barbara Singer and her husband Vince; brother, Richard Myers and his wife Elizabeth; sister, Thelma Showalter; four grandchildren, Paul Schleicher, Donald L. Gibson, Jr. and his wife Sally, Megan Pinkley and her husband Kyle, Bret Singer; two great-grandchildren, Kyle Schleicher and Kennedie Pinkley. Florence is preceded in death by her parents; husband Melvin Paul Schleicher; grandson, Matthew Schleicher; half-sister, Nelvene West. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 1-2 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM both being held at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (Heart of America Chapter) 3846 W. 75st Street, Prairie Village, KS 66208.
