Doyle Hugh Thomas, 82, of Lewiston, MI, passed away on December 7, 2013 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 9, 1931 to Bryce and Lassie (Ingrim) Thomas in Alabama. He served his country in the US Navy. He married the former Sondra Smarch on March 23, 1957 in Lincoln Park, MI. He has lived in Lewiston for the past 25+ years, moving here after retiring from General Motors out of the Fleetwood Plant in Detroit after 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion, Lewiston Moose, and 50+ Club, he was a past member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved to spend his winters in St Cloud, FL. Doyle used to square dance and play tennis as well.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Sondra; sons, Kenneth (Peggy) Stevens of Livonia, MI, and Bryan (Christy) Thomas of Lewiston, MI; daughters, Roxanne (Will) Ivey of Southgate, MI, and Stacy (Greg) Bossio of Lincoln, MI; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and brothers, Roger (Carol) Thomas and Glenn (Marlene) Thomas both of Wyandotte, MI.
