She was born Jan. 27, 1918 in Thatchery, Ohio, a daughter of John and Cora Elsa Michael Hart Rollison who came to the area in covered wagons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Eugene Freeland, on Aug. 23, 1992.
She was the valedictorian of her 1936 graduating class of Wayne High School where she was awarded a scholarship to Wilmington College.
Before her marriage, she worked at Nunn's Locker in Wilmington, and then worked side by side with her husband on their family farm, including milking cows for 37 years. She was a member of the Sabina Church of Christ, volunteered at Sabina School, was active in 4-H and loved bingo.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Lynne Freeland Seitz of Sabina; granddaughter, Kimberly Corinne (David Bennington) Michael of Sabina; great-grandchildren, Michaela Nicole Robinson and Jeffery Michael-Vincent Rennekamp; nephews, Ronald (Pam), Richard (Margaret) and Roger (Cherry) Reveal; niece, April Carroll Valerio; nephew, Joe Valerio; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Roy, Raymond, Winnfred (Bill), Bessie and Mary; and a nephew, Jack Valerio.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Littleton Funeral Home with burial in the Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek. Friends may call on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the funeral home to help the family with expenses.
