Funeral services will be at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at the Evansdale Chapel of Memories for Theodore J. (Ted) Batchelder, 46, of 255 Sippel Ave., Evansdale, who died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday at St. Francis Hospital following a heart attack.
He had been helping push a car in downtown Waterloo earlier in the evening and suffered the stroke at home about 8 p.m. The Evansdale fire department: ambulance took him to the hospital
He was born Sept. 28, 1915, at Akron, the son of John and Nora Batchelder. He was a former resident of Waterloo, but had lived in Evansdale since 1945. He married Anna Mae Beasley on Aug. 14, 1937, at Waterloo. He is a member of the Linden Methodist Church and has been employed for 21 years at the stockroom of John Deere Tractor Co.
He is survived by his widow, three sons, Roger in the Army at Ft. Riley, Kan., Richard and Gary at home. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Nora Batchelder, of 1115 Fulton Ave., and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Berg, of 297 Wema St., Evansdale.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Evansdale Chapel of Memories with the Rev Ivan M. Maxson, pastor of the Linden Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
