Marshall Alridge, 84, of Olustee died at home on December 9, 2012 after an extended illness. He was born on January 4, 1929 to the late Grant and Susie Alridge, and was educated in the public schools of Ellaville, GA. He worked in the pulpwood industry for over 35 years and with the U.S. Forestry Department in Olustee under the Older American Program. Mr. Alridge was a member of the Body of Assembly Church of God in Christ.
He was predeceased by his parents; sister Alma Alridge; brother Haver Alridge; daughters Marshalene and Norma Jean Aldridge; grandson Daniel Thomas.
Mr. Alridge is survived by his devoted wife Nancy; daughters Evangelist Linda (Joe) Thomas, Johnnie Mae (Julius) Dinkens, Kimberly (West) Dryden, Nichole Brown, Nettie (Reginald) Tisdale and Catherine Harris; sons Travis (Samantha), Marshall Jr., Jerome (Lisa) and Jeffery Alridge; numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends Earnestine Broomfield and Brenda Jackson.
The viewing and visitation will be on Friday, December 14 from 6-8 pm at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Olustee, and the funeral service the following day at 11 am at New Day Spring Missionary Baptist Church in Lake City. Interment will be at Quitman Cemetery in Sanderson.
Mizell Funeral Home of Lake City is in charge of arrangements.
