Services for Frances , 64, of Knoxville, who died July 26, 1987 at Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held July 28 at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery. Rev. Kyle Anderson officiated at the services. Music was provided by Cheryl Anderson, organist, and Gloria Jordon, soloist. Pallbearers were Melvin Temple, Jr., Roger Jones, Greg McCarty, Don Edwards, Carl Sailors, and Joe Kennedy.

Mrs. Meekers was born Jan. 31, 1923, the daughter of Carl and Sabra Sailors.

In 1941 she married Warren Temple. She was a 1942 graduate of Knoxville High School.

In 1951, she married Alva Meekers. Before returning to Knoxville one year ago she had resided in Chilocothe, Mo. for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alva; her parents; two brothers, Frederick and Melvin Sailors, and three sisters, Daisy Crews, Blanche Giles, and Maxine Sailors.

She is survived by one son, Melvin Temple of Knoxville; one daughter, Barbara Ann Jones of Bussey; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
