Mr. Johnnie “Fred” Ayers, Jr., age 65, of Quail Hickory Circle, Wilkesboro, died Monday, February 15, 2010 at his home. Mr. Ayers was born July 14, 1944 in Wilkes County to Johnnie Fred Ayers, Sr. and Bertha Suzie Cardwell Ayers. He was a US Army Veteran. Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Barry Ayers and wife Melanie of Hays, Terry Lee Ayers of Lincolnton; three brothers, Rusty Ayers of Purlear, Rex Ayers of Millers Creek, J.C. Ayers and wife Miranda of Purlear; two sisters, Tammy Eggers and husband Michael of Millers Creek, Molly Roten and husband Clayton of Purlear; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 o’clock Friday, February 19, 2010 at Miller Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rick Tomlinson officiating. Entombment with military rites by VFW Post 1142 will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
