Gerry was born Oct. 9, 1915 in Farmington, Missouri, the daughter of Elvis and Ethel Doughty.
On March 3, 1934, she married Albert Stull, who preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1980.
Gerry was a lifelong homemaker living in the east Detroit area for 57 years before moving to Cheboygan in 1991. She enjoyed being a grandma, great-grandma and wife when her husband of 47 years came home from work at the Associated Press in Detroit.
Gerry was also a well-known bingo player, loved to bowl and to play the nickel slots at the local casinos. She attended most of the events in which her granddaughters participated at Cheboygan schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Virginia Womack; brothers: Clyde, Jake, Elvis and Leslie; and a son-in-law, Tony Altovilla.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 24, 2006, at the Nordman Funeral Home of Cheboygan, and from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, also at the funeral home.
Additional visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at the Resurrection Funeral Home in Clinton Township, Mich., and one hour prior to services, which will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
