Joanne D. Lish Fay was born in Minneapolis, MN to Bert O.J. & Mae Abraham Lish. Graduated from Sheridan Jr. High (53); Mpls Vocational High School (56); Anoka-Ramsey Jr. College; Metro State University; and U of MN. Joanne had many firsts in her life: 1st child, 1st grandchild, 1st in family to graduate high school; 1st female mid-level manager with the postal service in MN, ND, & SD; 1st female operations mgr. for the postal service in NE Wisc. & the U.P. of MI, working out of Green Bay. Worked for Bridgman's Ice Cream for many years while going to school, then at Honeywell for 10 years; before starting with the USPS from which she retired after 32 years. Joanne lived most of her life in NE Mpls, St. Francis, Fridley, and Coon Rapids, MN. Along with her husband, whom she married in 1957, she spent winters at their home in Groveland, FL after they retired. Joanne enjoyed music, laughter, her family, especially her grandchildren, and traveling. Her travels included visiting every state in the U.S., all the Presidential Libraries and most of the birthplaces or burial sites of our US Presidents; plus, trips to the Caribbean Islands, a cruise through the Panama Canal, Mexico, and every providence of Canada. After retiring, volunteering at Unity Hospital was important to her. Genea-logical research was one of her passions and she traced her family ancestry back many generations. She was very proud of her Lebanese heritage and extremely happy to be an American.
