Joseph Martin came to America from Bray, County Cavan, Ireland in 1867. He settled in Chicago. In 1874 he married Kate McNamara and had two children. Kate tragically died in 1878. Joseph remarried in later years to Katie Cash. He became an American citizen in 1893. He stayed in Chicago and died there in 1921.
