William D. Hinderman, 82, Centralia, a Spanish-American war veteran, passed away Sunday in a local nursing home following a year-long illness.

Mr. Hinderman, a member of the John H. Whooley Camp of Spanish-American War Veterans, Centralia, had been a Centralia resident for the past 13 years.

Survivors include three sons, William, Portland; Clarence, Sunnyvale, Calif., and Mel, Shelton; two daughters, Mrs. Marion Pierson, Shelton, and Mrs. Ellen Edwards, Port Orchard, Wash.; two brothers, Hugh Hinderman, Condon, Ore.; Harley Hinderman, Pilot Rock, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Arley Hartman, Vancouver, Wash., and Mrs. Margaret Paterson, Washington, D.C.; four stepsons, L.G. Palmer and Melvin and Dale Butterfield, Centralia, and Wayne Butterfield, South Bend; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Merle Haselwood, and Mrs. Leta Huber, Centralia, and Mrs. Helen Salisbury, Seattle.
