Willie L. Jahnke, 73, of 3429 Pewitt died Wednesday in a local nursing home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Connally-Compton West Chapel, Melvin Spenn officiating. Burial will be in Waco Memorial Park.
Mr. Jahnke was born Jan. 15, 1907, in Washington County. He farmed in Riesel and Otto before moving to Waco in 1945. He worked for a dairy many years before retiring in 1972. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Louise Jahnke; one daughter, Mrs. Charlie (Elenora) Noel of 2629 Live Oak; one sister, Mrs. Eddie Elsie Wellbrock of Otto; one brother, Herman Jahnke of China Spring; three granddaughters; and a great-grandson.
