Robert F. Attebery passed away at his home in Happy Camp on Jan. 16, 2011 after a short illness. Robert was born at Ferry Point, Calif. on Sept. 16, 1924 to Archie Attebery and Louise (Southard) Attebery. His familoy moved to Happy Camp in 1939.
At 18, Bob joined the Navy and served his time as a radar operator in the Philippines, and was in several battles in that area.
Bob married Phyllis Beaver on May 16, 1947. They lived in Happy Camp until 1959, when they moved to Hyampom, Calif. Bob and Phyllis spent 62 years of life together hunting, fishing, camping and taking care of nieces and nephews over the years.
They moved back to Happy Camp in 2001. Phyllis preceded him in death on May 2, 2009. In addition to his wife Phyllis, he was predeceased by his parents Archie and Louise Atebery; and three sisters, Eva Moran, Gladys Taylor and Dorothy (Chuggy) Harrington.
