Anna P. Hughes Smith, 86, of Antrim, passed away on Friday, Oct. 24, 2003 at her son, Eugene's residence in Wellsboro.
Born July 17, 1917 in Blossburg, she was the daughter of John and Mary Bockus Hughes.
She married Clarence Smith on Oct. 16, 1937. She was a member of the Antrim Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1989; two sons, Robert in 1941, Ronald in 1975; daughter, Nancy Starkweather in 2000.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Katie) Smith of Antrim, Thomas (Bonnie) Smith of Mansfield, Bernard (Betty) Smith of Wellsboro, Eugene (Sandy) Smith of Wellsboro, Walter Smith of Antrim, Rickey (Bea Flint) Smith of Antrim, daughter-in-law, Mildred Smith; son-in-law, Thomas Starkweather of Middlebury Center; sisters, Nora Bundus of Arlington, Texas, Edith Walter of Lakeland, Fla., 20 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Friends called on Monday, Oct. 27 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., Wellsboro.
Services followed calling hours with the Rev. Dennis B. Crumb officiating.
Interment was made in the Niles Valley Cemetery, Middlebury Center.
