George David Barlow, 75, of Oolitic, died at 3:50 am on Tuesday, July 08, 2014 at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington, IN.

Born February 2, 1939 in Bedford, he was the son of Labon and Gladys (Terrell) Barlow. He retired from the City of Bedford but was well-known as a school bus driver and worker at Bedford North Lawrence High School. He was a faithful follower of the Lady Stars and a member of the New Hope Church on Hwy 50 E. in Bedford.

Anyone who knew George knew he loved his family and is survived by his wife, Phyllis; eight daughters, Teresa (Hall) and Mike Kellams, Cheryl (Barlow) and Dean LaClair, Cindy (Barlow) and Lloyd Wade, Sherrie (Hall) and Greg Fee, Christy (Barlow) and Tony Wininger, Tammy (Hall) and Rodney Mann, Cammie (Barlow) Tucker, Jenny (Hall) and Mike Hopper; twenty-two grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Esther (Barlow) Melvin. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, July 11th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Mike Eads officiating. Burial will follow in Tunnelton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 10th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
