1837 Benjamin L. Boggs, grant of 150 acres [now Braxton Co. WV], on Elk River near James C. Boggs' Mills.

1837: Built the first tavern in Sutton. Sold to J.C. Camden in 1837

"Benjamin Lemasters Boggs is buried in the Abel Cunningham Cemetery on Lower Mill Creek right above the rest stop in the interstate. The stones for Benjamin and his wife were in the possession of Blanche Reip. The cemetery was unfenced and the cows were destroying the stones. The survey map in deed book 16-483, 23 Dec 1882 shows 280 acres from the heirs of Benjamin L Boggs to William N Boggs on Elk River upstream from and adjacent to B. F. Cunningham." - Tom Miller
