BOSSIER CITY, LA- Funeral services will be held at Waller Baptist Church on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Dr. Cliff Estes officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, August 10, 2007 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton, LA.

He passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 as a result of trauma from an automobile accident on July 24, 2007.

Mr. Kruithof was born on January 14, 1919 in Herrjansdam, Holland. He and his family came to Louisiana from Holland in 1925 when he was only five years old. He has been a resident of Bossier Parish since 1927. He did not become a a U.S. citizen until he was drafted during WWII. He was an Army veteran and fought for his country in the South Pacific. The reunions held every few years with his former army outfit were one of his greatest joys. Until he retired, he managed the John S. Webb Pecan Orchard and Farm in Sligo, LA and later was a painter for the Bossier Parish School Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ysbrand and Hendrika Kruithof, his first wife, Elizabeth and daughter, Beth Ann, a sister Nell Skinner and a brother Jerry Kruithof.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Kenneth Kruithof and wife, Judy and Larry Kilgo and wife, Cherie; daughters, Cindy Chandler and husband, Billy, Gay Anderson and husband, Steve; brother, Johnny Kruithof and wife, Elizabeth; sisters, Grietje Hester, Tommie Gray, Mary Ann Mathis and Henrietta Day. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kevin Kruithof and wife, Paula, Kelly Kruithof, Lauren and Lindsay Anderson, Joy Reger and husband, Frank, Jena and Kaylee Kilgo, Damien Griffin and Billy Chandler and five great grandchildren, Vivian Kruithof, Ethan Kruithof, Beth Ann Fortenberry, Ann Cherie and Maggie Reger.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Kruithof, Damien Griffin, Billy Chandler, Frank Reger, Dickie Barnes, Bobby Gray, Michael Mathis and Bubba Hassell.

The family would like to thank Dr. Craig Miller and the staff on the 7th floor at WK Pierremont for their loving care of both parents after the accident.
