William Dewey Garner, age 86, of Seymour, died Monday, July 7, 2014, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Mr. Garner was a World War II veteran, honorably serving in the U.S. Army. He was a proud member and deacon of Old Chilhowee Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Cora Garner; siblings, Blanche Everett, Geneva Headrick, Lee Garner, J.A. Garner, and Nellie Quirk.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Helen Jean Garner; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ann Garner; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and James Roulette, Jean and Don Henry, Brenda and Joe Chester; grandchildren, Kevin Roulette, John Robertson, April Chandler, Tony Garner, Derek Roulette; sister, Juanita Brown; seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, in the Dotson Wildwood Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Brooks and the Rev. Jack Hitch officiating.

Interment will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at Old Chilhowee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Roulette, John Robertson, Derek Roulette, James Roulette, Don Henry, and Joe Chester. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Dotson Funeral Home, 4838 Wildwood Road, Wildwood, 984-5959
