Services for Mrs. Mary M. (Henderson) Whitten, 95, will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, in Auburn Presbyterian Church, with burial in Auburn Cemetery. Mrs. Whitten died Sunday at her home. She was born Dec. 1, 1866, in Newton Argylesire, Scotland. She came to the United States with her family in 1882. The family settled on a farm in Rice community east of Topeka and lived there several years before moving to Auburn. Mrs. Whitten was a member of Auburn Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Women's Missionary Society and Six Mile Circle.

She was married to Luther Whitten in 1895. Mr. Whitten preceded her in death July 4, 1957. A son, James Whitten, died July 9, 1961. Surviving are a son, Allan; five daughters, Mrs. Carl H. Moore, Mrs. Ralph Roose, Miss Kathryn Whitten, Mrs. Cleon H. Lowry, and Mrs. Dewey J. Koci; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and a sister, Miss Janette Henderson of Auburn.
