THE PARIS NEWS, THURSDAY, JULY 10, 2014, PAGE 3 - Matthew Kyle Weddle of Mesquite joined our Lord on July 6, 2014. Matthew was born on March 3, 1992, to Brad and Shirley Weddle. He was a senior Computer Science major at UT Dallas. He attended Kimball Elementary, Kimbrough Middle School and Poteet High School in Mesquite. He graduated third in his high school class and was voted Most Likely to Succeed. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Science Club, Boy Scouts of America and US Tennis Association. He was actively involved in sports such as soccer, baseball, tennis and squash. He won awards as part of the Poteet Varsity Tennis team and UT Dallas Squash team.
He earned honors in UIL and was a National Merit Commended Scholar. He attended the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C., National Youth Leadership Forum in Medicine in Boston and worked one summer at the M.D. Anderson Genetics Lab.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Brad and Shirley Junek Weddle of Mesquite and his paternal grandparents, Loretta Sue Weddle and Bob and Linda Weddle of Paris. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts, Sean and Wyndy Weddle Huffman, Jon and Andrea Weddle, Laura Weddle, David and Lee Junek, Enrique and Marilyn Junek Gonzalez, James "Tiny" and Susan Junek Dean.

He leaves behind many cousins whom he considered to be his brothers and sisters, Jarrod Junek, Clayton Junek, Jessica Gonzalez, William Dean, Patrick Dean, Dylan Huffman, Zachary Huffman, Madeline Weddle, Samuel Weddle (who is expected later this month), Will Hilliard, Zeke Stillwell and Jamie Thomason.

Cecelia "Grandma Sal" Hutson and Matthew's maternal grandparents, W. B. and Ella Mae Junek preceded Matthew in death and welcomed their grandson to heaven.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale with graveside service to follow
